This fire piston is a recreation of an original shown in the Smithsonian photo. The original was collected about 1900 by General Jacob Kline, US Army during the Philippine-American War. ( Matching Tindersafe not included )
The Bush Master features reverse taper styling and is available in both Coco Bolo and Buffalo Horn.The Bush Master includes a detachable lanyard ring collar that slides over the piston shaft and provides a convenient attachment or carrying option.

Take ( Pronounced "tahkay") is the Japanese word for Bamboo and we fashioned this model to resemble the straight hollow wood believed to have been used to created the first pimitive fire pistons.
