Our one day training classes include hands-on instruction in the following.
- Flint and steel fire making
- Burning mirror ( pop can )
- Bow drill fire making - Burning lens
- Hand Drill fire making - Basic flint knapping
- Advanced fire piston technique - Cordage making
- Tinder selection
- We will show you the advantages of coal-based fire making vs instant flame and several natural tinders that catch and propagate a spark without special treatment.
- Participants will fabricate their own bow drill and hand drill fire making sets which are theirs to keep. ( $50 product value )
- By the end of this workshop, participants will know how to go into the wilderness empty handed and make fire using only the materials provided by nature.
